FAQ's - Body Sugaring

Do I need to grow my hair long as I do with waxing?

NO! Body Sugaring treatment extracts hair at 1/8 of an inch or less. If you typically shave, wax or use other hair removal methods, book your sugaring appointment when your hair growth is 1/8 of an inch and feel the difference sugaring can make for you!

Does sugaring cause ingrown hair?

NO! Dead skin growing over the mouth of the follicle causes ingrown hairs. Improper body sugaring technique, lack of exfoliation, and improper knowledge of skincare are the main causes of ingrown. Practitioners are trained to use the proper pre and post-extraction care. As well we educate our clients on skincare to avoid ingrown hairs.

Many clients continue their Body Sugaring treatments long after the hair has stopped growing as an exfoliation treatment. They simply love the way it makes their skin feel and that's what keeps them coming back to Body Sugaring!

How does body sugaring differ from waxing?

Body Sugaring paste is applied against the direction of hair growth. It is then extracted with the direction of hair growth causing less breakage, less pain, less ingrown hair, less skin irritation, and exfoliation of the skin. Wax is heated to a very high degree. This causes swelling of the tissue and pain to the skin. The Body Sugaring paste is applied at room temperature, so the Practitioner never runs the risk of burning the client's skin.

Is sugaring unsanitary?

No. Body Sugaring Practitioners are trained to use gloves while extracting hair and during the entire body sugaring treatment. Cross-contamination with waxing is always a risk especially since bacteria will breed inside of a wax jar.

How often do I need to book an appointment?

Extraction of the hair in the growing stage (1/8 of an inch or less) on a regular basis can lead to permanency. Appointments should be booked with your Practitioner on a regular basis and when your hair length is 1/8 inch long.

I have sensitive skin and cannot use any product with harsh chemicals or perfumes in them. Are your products safe for me to use?

Absolutely!! Body Sugaring paste is all-natural.
